"They cannot take away our hope - and they cannot take away our dignity. And so we learn to love ourselves and others a little more each and every day, because when it comes down to it, sometimes our hope and our dignity are the only things we have left, and love - no matter how hard it is, love is the only way to show it." Annalisa
CELTIC WHISPERS TOUR FINISHES...
Annalisa sold out in Queensland and received standing ovations in South Australia for her Celtic Whispers tour, which wrapped up with a wonderful audience for her and her spirited colleagues "Taliska", the newly formed Australian Celtic band at the welcoming Whitehorse Theatre, Melbourne.
HOPE... THE ALBUM
She has just finished recording two new orchestral tracks with the effervescent Chong Lim, Australia's premier arranger, producer and star music guru of "Dancing with the Stars". This album is set to be released next year with ABC, along with songs sung by Olivia Newton John and Stan Walker, winner of Australian Idol.
MARIO LANZA TOUR FINISHES...
Annalisa Kerrigan and tenor Robert Barbaro have received standing ovations throughout Australia on their national tour of Annalisa's show, Mario Lanza. Written and produced by Annalisa, the project received full houses in theatres from tiny Australian regional towns right through to the prestigious Angel Place Recital Hall in Sydney, and the Glass House Theatre. Critics say "this is an excellent show...a lovely night of nostalgia" (Canberra Times).
A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ANNALISA....
Annalisa Kerrigan is one of ABC's top selling classical crossover artists. With a pure, ecstastically beautiful tone and lyrical style, astounding top notes and heartfelt deliveries, she has toured Europe, Australia and Asia in concert to standing ovations.
She has performed as guest artist with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, Western Australian Symphony Orchestra, Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, Sinfonia Australis, Orchestra Victoria, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir, and many more, including touring with her own beloved Aria Award winning Chamber orchestra, Virtuosi Tasmania.
Her performances have been conducted and supported by Sir Richard Bonynge, ABC's Guy Noble, Sean O'Boyle, and more. She has performed for millions on many different television apeparances, including national tv via Carols by Candlelight, and globally via the Formula One Grand Prix, and various World Cup Rugby and Soccer titles.
She has released two best selling recordings with ABC Classics, "Waiting on an Angel" and "Ireland", and appears as guest artist on recordings such as "Encore, SBS's Greatest Tracks of 2009", "Winter" (2012 release), "Hope" (with Olivia Newton John) (2012 release), and films such as "Like a Dream" produced and directed by Clara Law music by Paul Grabowsky.
A songwriter in her own right and producer, she has completed a sold out, second national tour of "Mario Lanza, The Loveliest Night of the Year" after selling out her first national tour, "Ireland". Her other shows including "Celtic Whispers", "Spirit of Celt", Andrew McKinnon's "Scotland the Brave", and "What a Wonderful World" have been hugely successful - all written and produced by her (except Scotland The Brave!). While wonderful, they led to an extremely busy period for Annalisa for the last ten or so years of her life. She has now seized the chance for a sebbatical where she is comfortably settled in the United Kingdom with a handsome man and a big black labrador, writing, teaching, and performing only when chocolate and a large glass of good Italian white wine is dangled in front of her.
Performing at over 200 theatres throughout Australia and Asia Pacific, she has become a household name for many who love beautiful music and her pure, passionate tone, particularly those in the Australian countryside and in Asia.
Growing up in the country amongst the mountains and outback Australia, Annalisa's philosophy has always been about bringing beautiful live and recorded music to the whole of the nation. This has led to a fascinating and evocative relationship with both audiences from isolated, regional areas of Australia to the major performance centres of each capital city.
Her eight year training in Florence, Italy put her gratefully amongst such great teachers as Antonio Moretti-Pananti and Alberto Zedda, and as a result, she is and always has been an extraordinary vocal artist with the ability to range between coloratura, (Queen of the Night, Zerbinetta), to light classical, musical theatre and soft-miked, contemporary styles. Her major inspirations in music are the technical abilities of old greats like Anneliese Rothenburger, Gundola Janowitz, the drama and spirit of Maria Callas, the humble, common man sensitivity of John Denver and Dolly Parton, the precision and easy depth of the late and beloved Dietrich Fischer Diskau, and Yo Yo Ma - who never sees barriers in music but only sees the wide open fields in which to lay his musical garden in.
